Jane Rooney (FACP)

Jane Rooney is a Specialist Sports Physiotherapist (as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists in 2009) and Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (1997).

She is a guest Lecturer at La Trobe University Sports Masters Program and acts as a clinical supervisor for the sports masters program at La Trobe and Melbourne Universities. Jane is also actively involved in sports titling, specialisation mentoring and examining in Australia.

Jane is the Director of Physio Educators, an organisation providing postgraduate physiotherapy education.  She has lectured extensively throughout Australia and Internationally over the past 14 years on topics including patello-femoral pain, knee injury diagnosis and rehabilitation, shoulder rehabilitation and dry needling.

Over the past 27 years Jane has worked with elite athletes at state, national and international levels in netball, athletics, gymnastics and cycling. Jane has also traveled with the Australian Fed Cup team and regularly provides individual physiotherapy services to internationally recognised tennis players. She currently works at Prahran Sports Medicine Centre and Prahran Market Injury Rehab in Melbourne.

Jane’s professional interests include patellofemoral pain and instability, knee reconstruction and knee injury rehabilitation and athlete screening for injury prevention.
