THE DO’S & DONTS of sitting at a workstation

04.May.20 | Physiotherapy

DO:

  1. Keep your work close to your body
  2. Alternate postures/positions frequently
  3. Take your hands off the mouse/keyboard whenever possible (thinking/reading)
  4. Stretch frequently through the day
  5. Take short frequent breaks throughout the day

DO NOT WORK WITH:

  1. Wrists bent
  2. Arms raised
  3. Head turned
  4. Neck/upper body bent forward

Optimising your working space can help to prevent pain and injury resulting from joint and tissue overload from poor posture. Regular exercise to maintain fitness and strength will improve overall wellbeing, enabling you to sustain better posture while working, in turn, reducing tissue loads and stress on the body.

Physiosports Brighton & Pursue Health Highett have a remote Ergonomic Assessment service to help you optimise your posture, workstation position and equipment.
