Dr Anik Shawdon

Sports and Exercise Physician

Anik is a consultant SPORTS AND EXERCISE MEDICINE PHYSICIAN. She consults at Physiosports Brighton twice a week. In addition to this practice she has roles which include talent pathway medical officer for the Australian Football League (AFL), player sports physician at the Australian Open Tennis, independent medical officer for the National Basketball League (NBL) and chief medical officer for the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) football.

Other appointments include sitting on the Australian Sports Medical Advisory Committee (ASDMAC) and member of the ICC TUE committee.

Previous team experience includes medical director 2018 Youth Olympic Games, chief medical officer for Melbourne Victory football club, medical officer for the Australian world championships rowing team, Women’s Australian U21 basketball team, National League Basketball teams, Melbourne Monarchs Australian Baseball League team, U21 Victorian netball team and the Port Melbourne Football club.

Previous experience includes working as the Medical Convenor at the Victorian Institute of Sport, Deputy Chief Medical Officer for the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, Chief Medical Officer for the FINA World Championships and World Masters Games.
