Paul Visentini FACP
Paul is a Specialist Sports Physiotherapist who lectures and mentors widely, especially on the topics of cycling injury, lower limb mechanics and tendon injury. He is fluent in Italian and has worked in Italy as a physiotherapist. He will lead the conference visits, as well as the lectures and workshops in the evenings, with input from former professional cyclists during the riding phases.

Testimonial from 2012 Science of Cycling Tour
“Paul Visentini was a great guide and small group tutor who opened many doors previously thought to be shut to the average physio: a tour of the facilities and discussions over dinner with the physios working with Australia’s elite athletes at the AIS at Gavirate, a whole day spent at the MAPEI sports science centre just outside Milan, famous for the in-depth biomechanical analysis of the world’s elite professional cyclists, and a visit to a working Italian bicycle factory, where hand made carbon-fibre bikes are built to suit the individual rider. Having Paul’s fluent Italian on hand also helped to interact with the local professionals.
To top it all off, the scenery of the Italian lakes of Maggiore, Varese and Como, the Dolomites around Cortina, and the Italian Alps near Bormio was breathtaking, the food delicious and coffee reliable and plentiful.

The cycling component was led by a very experienced tour guide, Kevin Ford, who further enhanced the learning by guiding me, a novice cyclist up and down some of the biggest climbs in Italian cycling. The knowledge I gained in this regard will give me more ability to relate to keen cycling patients. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough.”
